Top Picks For a Classic New Orleans Brunch

Wedding or not, brunch is the best way to lunch on the weekends if you ask me. Heck, it’s the ONLY way. And if you are looking for the perfect spot to host your bridesmaids for some girl time or your guests are reeling from a post-wedding hangover, why not do it over eggs benedict and Bloody Mary’s?! Not only is brunch a great way to nurse people back to consciousness, but its a wonderful opportunity to actually talk to the people you want to spend time with pre or post wedding. The big day will be such a blur so it’s nice to work in some other less formal moments during the weekend where you can sip mimosas and savor quality time with family and friends while in the Big Easy. There are lots of ways to work a brunch into your wedding weekend. If you still have some of that wedding budget left over to send your guests off in a grand New Orleans-style Jazz Brunch, or you’d like to pick a quieter spot for a …

::: Established 2012 :::

To say that 2012 was a life changing year would be an understatement. The past 365 days have been a whirlwind of new endeavors, risk taking and commitment making. For the first time ever I feel personally rewarded for the work I’m doing and the path I’m on feels like the right one. This new (and wildly different!) community welcomed us with open arms and would serve as the incubator for my young business in the wedding industry. On July 4th weekend of 2011 said boyfriend of 5 years proposed on a very sweet and somewhat foiled picnic in Avery Island, Louisiana. While I was planning my own wedding and working full-time in sales I decided it was the perfect time to start my own …

sweet succulents

I am so in love with the succulent centerpiece shown above (photographed by Amanda Patrice), I can hardly stand it! How clever and unique to use and old book as a ‘planter box’ if you will. This got me thinking about succulents in general and how perfectly sweet they are as wedding favors and table place cards. Plus you can use almost any vessel to plant them in, the possibilities are endless! I am seriously heading to the thrift store right now to find some old cups, tarnished silver and glassware to start a little DIY succulent project of my own! What would you use them for? ~Julia This is a TEENY TINY watering can! Available for purchase through Etsy. Can’t you just imagine tying a name card on the end of the spout and placing one on each plate?
