a vintage California wedding- Featured on Style Me Pretty!

Ok, this one is really REALLY close to my heart, as these are the photos from my wedding! Kara Miller did an amazing job of capturing all of our special moments from the day, and I am overjoyed and honored to be featured on Style Me Pretty California. What a special day it was indeed. I was praying for no rain, and of course I got the exact opposite of rain: scorching heat. I think it was about 100 degrees at 3:30PM that day when our outdoor ceremony started. There is one photo of me using a vintage hanky to wipe my husband’s cheek during our vows, which looked really sweet, like I was wiping his tears. But I wasn’t. Nope, just trying to wipe the sweat out of his eyes. A few hours into the reception, and a few ice-cold beers later, the sun started to go down as well as the temperature and all of our guests seemed to be doing just fine! We chose to have a live bluegrass band, The Creak, …

wedding registry I.Q.- Match Pewter

My big day has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean I have to stop sharing my favorite products with you guys. Match Pewter is timeless tableware made of glass, ceramic and pewter. Each piece has been handcrafted in northern Italy for generations and is stamped with an “M” and a “95” so you know you are getting an authentic Match piece. My sweet maid of honor gave us the champagne toasting glasses to use on our wedding day. Nothing in the Match line is overly feminine, which is why it makes such a perfect wedding gift. My husband absolutely loves the toasting glasses and we’re hoping to add to our collection over time. Here’s us laughing at the best man speech. See Match toasting glass in Rob’s hand (right next to the silver bullet). Thank you to Kara Miller Photography for capturing moments like these! I love the salt dish and salt spoon! Great gift for the chef. The beautiful double old fashioned glass. Great groomsmen gift as well! How lovely is this!? Gorgeous pewter and …

the ever stylish notebook- Moleskine

As the planning stage of my wedding comes to a close and my Big Day grows nearer and nearer, I’ve noticed that almost all of my ‘to-do’s’ in my trusty Moleskine notebook have been crossed off my list! While I’ve been a lover of the simple Kraft Moleskine notebook for quite some time, I had never put one to work as much as I did my wedding Moleskine. The pages of my checklist are literally falling out of the notebook at this point, the direct result of our yearlong wedding planning process. I’ve had so much fun with the planning and can’t wait to see all of our hard work and creative ideas come to fruition next weekend! Bon Voyage until after the wedding! Julia xoxo The classic Kraft Moleskine, set of three My latest obsession, Moleskine Postal. It’s a notebook that folds up into an envelope! Hand stitched ampersand from Etsy’s Elizabeth Rosemond. Love this hand stamped Moleskine. Available from Etsy. White doilies! Available from Cozy Blue on Etsy. Victorian Flowers available from Windymoor …

DIY Cotton Boutonnieres

Usually when I see the three letters D-I-Y I immediately think to myself, there is no way I can do that. Many of the ‘do it yourself’ projects I see on wedding blogs are so involved, by the time you are finished you’ve actually spent more on time and materials than you would have just purchasing the item. That is precisely why Etsy exists. It’s a online retailer dedicated to the ‘do-it-yourself’ projects that you can’t do yourself. So trust me when I say, you can do this! These boutonnieres are simple and beautiful and very inexpensive. Hooray! I knew I wanted my groom and his men to wear cotton boutonnieres, but I was having a hard time finding them. My sweet friend, and newly married gal, Leah had just finished with her copy of Handmade Weddings and passed it along to me. The book is chock full of wonderful projects on every skill level and the cotton boutonnieres seemed particularly doable. I bought the texas tallow (the little white berry looking things), lavender and …
