It’s Cocktail Time

Hello lovelies and happy Monday! I’ve taken a little break from blogging the last few weeks as we moved both my business and our home to an amazing uptown live/work building. The new space has room for a retail store (COMING THIS FALL!) in the front, design office in the middle, showroom/gallery beyond that and a living space in the back of the building! It’s seriously my dream come true and I can’t wait to share all of the photos when I’m done putting every last candlestick and vintage cake plate on the shelves. And of course (OF COURSE!!) we will have an opening party, so stay tuned.

Speaking of parties, this week marks the start of the 10th annual Tales of The Cocktail , the world’s premier bartending/cocktail nerd event which takes place right here in our glorious city. I’ve been here for three years now, and to be honest, I never really knew what this event was all about. I just knew that my bartender friends would fly in from New York and San Francisco to attend these extremely lavash parties and events complete with craft cocktails, live music and gourmet food.

This year, Mrs. Vintage is providing vintage rentals to three of the scheduled George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey events, which made me dive a little deeper into what this week really entails. Yes, there are parties, but the Tales event offers so much more, from a “how to run a bar business” seminar to “Bourbon and Butchery” at Toups Meatery, which just sounds amazing.

Being that this is the week of cocktails, plus the fact that I’m an avid vintage cocktail glass collector, I thought I’d take this opportunity to check out Vintage 329 on Royal Street to see what amazing glassware they have to offer. Have you ever been? They truly have the best vintage glassware collection in the city.

The manager, Carly, was telling me that these Hazel Atlas sets are some of the most popular.

  1. I came across you blog today about weddings, Refined Vintage or Rustic Vintage? I was intrigued because my shop is named Refined Vintage. That was a great post, helpful to define your style. I have pinned some of your photos!

Of course I had to check out more posts, and now I have found my way to this one about cocktail glasses, another of my favorite topics, I too collect vintage bar ware and love the cocktail glasses. I think we have much in common, lol. I am not in your part of the US, but I sure would love to check out this store.

    • Hey Bridget!! Thank you so much for reaching out and for reading the blog!! My shop is in New Orleans, LA and we specialize in vintage furniture and prop rental. I would LOVE to have you down if you ever make it this far South!

      Have a wonderful week,
