As you can probably image, the buying part of Mrs. Vintage is always the most fun. Rob and I set out on the weekends for the country, and usually come home with a truck full of vintage. A few weekends back, on a sunny Saturday afternoon, we hit the road for Mississippi in search of authentic Jack Daniel’s whiskey barrels. The search lead us to a farmer, world traveler and entrepreneur, who had loads of stories to tell. He had two warehouses full of furniture, antiques, rusty bits and bobs, garden decor, and, of course, whiskey barrels. He sells the barrels by the HUNDREDS to local breweries and perhaps moonshiners. Getting a tour of his farm and listening to his stories being told in a thick southern Mississippi accent made it feel as if we’d stepped back in time 100 years.
Here are a few photos from our adventure, as well as creative ways to incorporate barrels into your wedding decor! Enjoy!
